Groce Funeral Home was founded in 1929 by the sons of the Reverend T.A. Groce, a circuit-riding Methodist minister who traveled the mountains of Western North Carolina by horse and buggy. The experience with Groce has been terrible. I did not receive a return phone call as promised. At my mother's funeral, no one from Groce even spoke to my family. They did , however, speak to my sister who had not seen or spoken to my mother in over 2 years. The grandchildren were not spoken to . It was of if we did not exist. Our family has always used Groce Funeral Home. I will not recommend Groce to anyone in the future. Unless you are handing them a check, you will not be comforted in any way.
