I brought Jon Grinnell an old 60's lounge chair to have some missing wood patched up with the hopes that the results would simply be an improvement. The repairs he provided went far beyond what I'd hoped for and I'm delighted with the results. Professionals are increasingly rare who can find solutions to problems that don't have obvious solutions, but Jon will figure it out. I really admire that quality. I will absolutely bring more work to Grinnell's Furniture Restorations.
He does excellent work with a reasonable turnaround time.
My father made a Duncan Phyfe style table in his High School Wood Shop class that (to me) has always been indicative of who he was: a kind, smart and hardworking man that believed in doing things correctly. The cherry cradle my husband made before our first grandchild was born 35 years ago was badly damaged in shipping from Alaska to North Carolina. My grandson attempted to repair it and it was a mess. Jon brought it back to its original beauty. He made pieces that had been lost, repaired cracks, removed old glue, stained new pieces to match and polished the whole piece. When it was completed it brought tears of joy to my eyes. I would recommend him highly.
Very pleased with Jon's work. He took the time to follow up with me on every step of the project to make sure we were on the same page. Enthusiastic, professional and reliable. Am definitely going to use him to do some of my other antiques. Thanks Jon!!
