Great experience.
I have a 16 year old son named Henry, who was struggling with his behavior and grades. Dr. Griggs was able to identify the root causes of these issues and help my son make positive changes. His grades have improved and he is doing much better overall. I would highly recommend Dr. Griggs as a child psychologist for anyone who is looking for help with their child's behavior or academic performance.
My partner and I had been struggling in our marriage, so we sought out marriage counseling. Dr. Griggs recommended a number of techniques to improve our relationship, including the 'Four Rules' from his book. The techniques we learned have been very helpful and our marriage is much stronger now.
I called him and left a voicemail four hours prior to say I had found another provider. He insisted that he did not receive the voicemail, which ok fine, that can happen (though I always ensure I wait for the automated message that my voicemail has been sent). When I told him the reason I was not at the appointment, he said "and so you just called me this morning? nice going", and hung up without warning. During my first call to schedule an appointment, I was already a little wary, so glad I followed my instincts there.
Condescending, inability to listen, liar and treats you like garbage. It's clear why he has so many bad reviews online.
Saw him a couple years ago. I was stressed and depressed and he told me to take a bat and beat up a bush. I'm not joking. And then he mostly talked about himself. As if he had no training IMO. then he did some shenanigans with the billing. In the end he never answered my issue regarding the billing. I don't even believe he got his degree from an APA accredited school. Obviously never went back. And I suspect he authors his own positive reviews.
Great guy, really insightful and does not try to drag on therapy, when you say you want to work on something, he works on it with until he thinks you are done and then says, ok you don't need me anymore.
