I absolutely love Griffy Lake! It's so peaceful to read on a kayak! Go try it!
The lake is okay but it's a nice spot to hang out when the weather is nice, and kayaking is a pretty nice activity to enjoy together. However, recently, the people working at the boat rental have been super rude, look uninterested and are lazy. There have been times we reach there by 5 pm and they refuse to give a boat to two people, even if there are clearly fewer than 22 watercrafts in the lake. It just seems like they simply don't want you to go out in the lake so that they don't have to work.
Reasonable rates for rentals on their boats/ canoes. It's such a peaceful place in town although you would never know it. It can get busy but the crowd that is there is very respectful to the beauty and serenity of it. I've not had much luck catching fish here but will continue to come back year after year to enjoy such a beautiful gem in a wasteland of a town.
A wonderful place to paddle board with tons of wildlife and nature. Peaceful at the right hours. A little dirty with trash so if that could be considered an awareness to clean up your own fishing lines etc, all would be fantastic. Pleasant peaceful and needed.
