I’ve had experience with Greystar both as a current resident and as someone looking at their other properties in Boston. While the buildings themselves often look nice, the way they are run is disappointing. Since Greystar took over my current building, the quality of service has gone downhill. The staff in the office are often rude and dismissive. Instead of helping with maintenance or safety issues, I’ve been treated like an inconvenience. Amazing company. Very professional and caring.
Never rent with Greystar! The cooperate office doesn’t even respond. What kind of business is this! It’s frustrating and they are taking your money and not doing anything to fix the issue.
We have a flea infestation and they refuse to help! Pest control has been to our apartment at Avana at Oakbrook 4 times, I've steam cleaned, used all fleas sprays you can think of, and vacuumed everyday! They don't die. My dog is flea free, he is on a preventative and did not bring them into the apartment. Greystar refused to transfer us without a 500.00 dollar transfer fee. We should not have to pay that due to the situation. Very unprofessional and this is not how you treat your tenants.
If I could give zero stars, it would be too much. Greystar took over the management of my complex. I am only there 6 months a year in the winter (and pay the whole time I am not there). I just got back and they sent me a "smoking violation" warning. I don't smoke. I offered to let them immediately come to my unit. They didn't. Then they said a police officer would come to inspect, so I waited the whole day. No one came. Then, the assistant mgr stated several people in my building reported they saw me smoking - not true.
