We recently moved to Colorado and I was looking for a new gastroenterologist. I booked an appointment with Dr. Austin. The facility where he works had texted me to request records from my previous gastroenterologist, but I did not receive this text. In preparation for my visit, I typed up a concise summary of my medical history for him to review. When Austin walked in, he was visibly annoyed, stating “well, I don’t know what’s going on here”. I responded that I had a summary for him to read. He looked over at the paper, but ... read more
Had a colonoscopy with him. Terrible experience. Not interested in my history and seemed bored when I insisted on telling him about my past history. In a hurry and dismissive. I have no idea if he really examined me thoroughly. Will never see him again.
Almost cost me my life
Horrible bedside manner. Met with me for 15 min and thought he knew everything about my illness and dismissed the findings my previous two GI specialists. He was arrogant, close-minded, and acted annoyed to have to listen to me and take time out from his schedule for a visit. He basically said that he has never had a patient/read about someone with my symptoms so no use in trying to find a cure- take this pill three times a day for the rest of your life. He made me cry during the visit he was so mean- no doctor has ever made... read more
Don't even consider allowing this "Surgeon " any where near anyone you love ! He altmost killed my wife due to his arrogance! Damn any Hospital that employs his "EXPERTISE " ! STAY AWAY !
Arrogant, condescending, dismissive. Absolutely uninterested in listening to the patient - but quick to dismiss any questions.
Dr. Austin has terrible Bedside manner. Very snippy and condescending. He acts like he is annoyed from questions. Glared at me the whole time anytime I had a question. He should be fired. He is the worst doctor I have seen in years and I would never recommend him.
Dr. Austin performed my colonoscopy this morning. He was friendly, answered all questions, was highly professional, focused 100% on my care. The procedure was accomplished without incident - no perforations, no complications. He trusted his competent team to relay my results and aftercare as he went on to the next patient. As he should. My pre-op nurse, Emily, my sedation nurse, Nikki, and my post-op nurse (Lee?) were all proficient and patient. I will definitely return to Dr. Austin if needed.
He was very rude and didn't explain things well. He didn't even want to come see us after doing my husband's colonoscopy. We had to request that he comes to see us and he acted annoyed. In addition, he didn't send a follow-up letter after the abnormal pathology was finalized.
