In response to a referral from my PCP because of an elevated PSA level, my follow up visit with Dr. Ranta included what seemed to me to be the reasonable and responsible next steps: a phsyical prostate exam, a referral for a follow up blood test; and in addition, a referral for an MRI, with the caveat that the necessity for the MRI was conditional on other results. I feel that Dr Ranta has helped immensely and we are very comfortable with him and his staff. However I am frustrated that we are back to square one after more than a year of trying to solve the problem. Another very frustrating problem is not with Dr Ranta, but with HHC’s billing department. It happens not only with this provider, but has happened with Dr. Berman, our cardiologist, as well. I have pointed out the answer, but it falls on deaf ears.
