A few years ago, my mom informed me about a camp in the mountains of North Carolina that I would go to for a week or so. I came very confused, as it was my first time truly away from home at a summer camp. Everybody, including staff members and fellow campers, were so kind and welcoming into GRP. I had the best time ever. Now, it’s my fourth year at GRP and every year the experience is top level and so amazing. I learned about GRP by reading the book ‘Wind in the Woods,’ by Rose Senehi. The setting to the story was at a camp and based on extensive research she did at Green River Preserve. Long story short - I encouraged my son to enroll his son Aaron. As Aaron’s grandfather (who lives nearby on Hendersonville, NC) I delivered and picked up Aaron from camp. Everything about this place is amazing. Staff, lake, activities, hikes, food, songs, and late night games. If you don’t get homesick easily, do the 2 week camp and it will be an experience you will never forget. If I could give this camp 10 stars, I would.
