Our 1930s bungalow near Hyde Park has all this original charm, but the humidity here doesn't care about charm, and mold had been quietly spreading behind our bedroom baseboards for who knows how long. Green Planet Restoration of Florida found it during a routine inspection we almost didn't bother scheduling, remediated it properly, and explained how our home's original construction actually trapped moisture differently than newer builds. When the storm surge warnings started sounding serious, we sandbagged what we could and evacuated inland, but water still got into our ground floor while we were gone. Because it was surge water, not clean rain, they treated the drywall and flooring for contamination the whole way up, not just where it looked wet.
