Updated Nov 2025, same experience professional and kind. I was nervous but they were very good Very professional and caring. I was referred here through VT Gastro who has also been excellent. Not even comparable to uvmmc gastro. This is a very nice facility. I was impressed with all the staff and level of communication and care.
I had such a great experience here. Everyone was kind and attentive, and explained things to me clearly.
I recently had a billing issue with my previous insurance company. I received exceptional service from the Erica in the billing department. Not only did she work with my old employer and insurance, but rectified payments shortly after my inquiry. It was above and beyond a typical billing issue and I am grateful for the help.
HIPAA violation... pre-op MA read my entire medical record in front of a person I had not signed a consent for, continuing even after I brought up HIPAA. Patients need to make sure they know their rights and hold people who violate them accountable, or else protections for patients are meaningless. If privacy is not upheld through HIPAA, this puts patients potentially in danger. It's a breach of accepted standard of care. Dr. Werner, the surgery team, and post-op care were all excellent, and I could not recommend them more.
A pre-op Medical Assistant violated HIPAA and read my entire medical record for verification in front of a person I had not signed a consent for, continuing even after I brought up HIPAA. Past and present mental and physical health diagnoses, height/weight, current medications, past surgeries, sexual history, etc, etc. Patients need to make sure they know their rights, what they have/have not signed for, and need to hold those accountable when there is a violation, or else protections for patients mean nothing.
