Scam artist-stay away. He was supposed to fix our retaining wall and put in drainage. He quoted a great price and was initially friendly. He started this project in October of 2024-said it should take a week, and it is still not done (it is now 7/28/25). He has made every excuse in the book to not come and finish. He completed about half of the work, and he asked for $1000 for bricks and we haven’t seen him since. Now we need to go through court to try and recoup some of our losses. Prior to starting the job Allen promised to cut the stump down so it could be covered with mulch. I naively paid him before the job was complete, and he cashed the check within the hour and abandoned the job, leaving the stump untouched, and proceeded to start a new job across the street. Every time I saw him while he was working across the street, he would say "I didn't forget about you" or make an excuse saying the chainsaw broke. Allen and his team were wonderful. We originally had them scheduled for Wednesday but Allen called Sunday seeing if we could change the day due to inclement weather. He works with you, gives you plenty of notice, and stays up to date with the weather for the safety of his team and to ensure that quality work gets done. The crew cleaned up afterwards too. Highly recommend!
I have used Green Acres since moving to Alexandria VA in 2017. Allen Pelkey and his team have repaired retaining walls, installed French drains and other drainage systems, and of course, trimmed the very large trees in my yard. Highly recommend!
