I wish I could give negative stars! I have way too many complaints to write about my experience with Empoer. Plus, I don’t want to give myself PTSD by repeating all the incidents. Therefore, one can synthesize all the other negative reviews and I willingly agree with every one of them. Do yourself a huge favor and try to avoid this institution completely. Literally the worst process to get my 401K transfered to an IRA. So much paperwork that took so long, all for a process that has taken me 30 min at any other financial institution. Oh! And its not like they mention the paperwork on the website, you have to call to find that part out.
If I could give zero stars I would !!! If your employer uses this company for your 401k, run!!!!! Or be prepared for countless road blocks & massive migraines
First off i thought there customer service people were kind of rude when i called. I kept saying i wanted to open an account and the first lady that i talked to said if i didn't have and account, she couldn't help me. The next time i called, again I was told the same thing., but she tried to help me set up an account after i complained about service. Each time the online account set up kept saying there was an error with my password. There was no information about password except that it had to be 8-64 characters long. I tri... read more
Awful experience trying to access account for weeks. Provide confidential info, says I don't have an account while looking at statement. 5th try it says we've found your account, then redirects to a broken link. Attempt to log in following the link & now my account has been deactivated again for failed logins.
