Complete disappointment! Paid extra for parking and got there plenty early so we could park as close as possible as I'm a disabled veteran. When we were allowed in the parking lot, we were forced to park in the farthest point of the giant parking area instead of the end closest to the train station. It's OK. It just didn't look the same as it did when I use to take my son to ride the trains when he was little.
Really enjoyed the Tuckasegee River excursion! We were given a free souvenir cup that came with free drinks (soda, tea coffee) and beer and wine were also available (crown class ticket). I loved the beautiful, scenic view of the Tuckasegee River and the surrounding mountains. The train ride is about 4 hours long and the train crew did a wonderful job at telling us about the history of the area and tons of fun facts.
