What a wonderful day out with my best friend. The ride was beautiful. Our seats were comfortable in the crown class. We had a good view out a large window with nice service for our complementary sweet tea. This was the first time I’ve been on a train since I was a kid. I made memories here that will last a lifetime with the beautiful views, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Cool ride, sit in the right side facing the back for sure. Food and drink very affordable on board. Careful walking to the restaurant, takes your whole break.
Wonderful and Relaxing. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful train ride where we both had a chance to breathe and unwind..The food and drinks were good, and the cup was a great plus. We upgraded to the Carolina Shine Car, (Its worth it!) The ride was amazing. And then the musician surprised us and made the trip the best ever. Thank you to the team members for your Care of the Customer. We will come back!!
It was ok. We went expecting grand views up in the mountains where roads couldn’t go but that wasn’t the case. With that being said, the staff were exceptional. We were there towards the end of March and the diesel engine train was the only one running. We went on on the Nantahala Gorge Excursion. It was roughly 3.5 to 4 hours with a stop in between to allow the locomotive to switch ends to go back. With that being said, it was disappointing because we took both the same way there as back.
