Dana Hult review for Great Sand Dunes Lodge

We camped at the campground here – This campground is great - it's about 5 miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park and you have the most fantastic view of both the dunes and the San Luis mountain range from the campground. Camping was relatively cheap, we had a party of 5 and I believe it was $32 for the night. The tent sites are on a gravel road adjacent to a gas station and restaurant/gift shop (the only gas station and shop within many, many miles) and the camp sites are very secluded. Each site is surrounded by small pine trees so you can't see other campers. Each site also has a rock pit for your campfire (we were elated that we were allowed to have a fire since most CO campgrounds don't allow them). There is also a train boxcar nearby with great bathrooms that have several stalls and a changing area, several sinks, etc. There is laundry and showers on site as well. We will be back again in a few months. The employees at the gas station where we got our firewood were great, and the food at the restaurant was also pretty good and fairly priced. Only negative - no ATM machine within 30 miles or so.
