Our family of 4 has participated in GOBA for the past 5 years and had a great time each year. It is for sure a fun adventure!! We love exploring the smaller cities and towns in Ohio and making fun memories with family and friends along the way. When we did it for the first year for us in 2021 our kids were 10 and 8. Our son rode his own bike and our daughter has been on the tandem up until the year. It’s doable with kiddos!
If you like bicycling, Ohio countryside, small towns, and camping, this is the trip for you. I’ve done 17 GOBA’s and this was one of the best. Great routes, great towns, great rest stops, and great people and camaraderie. Also, some nice challenging hills thrown in too! With so many ride/route options, this is a great ride for all levels of riders. It’s also a great trip for families with young kids. My first GOBA was with my nine and eleven year old daughters. Best Father’s Day present ever! Great ride!
The community on GOBA is fantastic. The varying mileage options and optional riding days make it great for families. Seeing small towns across Ohio I would have otherwise likely never visited is such a fun experience. Highly recommend to the new or experienced rider!
I've ridden the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure 22 times, and was accompanied by at least one of my children for 10 of those adventures. The people are friendly and you can aim for lots of miles or take it easy and enjoy the towns.
