I have been a patient of Dr. Hoekzema's for 30 years, and have referred many friends and family members to him. He is an excellent physician; he is patient, kind and has a wide-range and depth of medical expertise. I value his knowledge more with every passing year as I age and realize new health concerns. I can always depend on Dr. Hoekzema and his staff to be responsive and caring.
Rude dismissive and even talked down about other providers. Did not have the knowledge about a rare condition because it is RARE. YET when called out that he should not speak on something he is unfamiliar he doubled back stating it was in fact common! Wow. Managing to overlook multiple dangerously low labs to focus on the subject he knew nothing about and instead of referring to the proper specialist, sent on to Psych who had clearly already signed off stating it was NOT what they handle. Dr. Hoekzema has been my family physician for decades. I truly find him the best there is, and for many reasons: knowledge, compassion, individual attention, accessibility during off-hours, proactive approach to my health. What more can one ask of a doctor! So, hoping to retain the privilege of having him watch over my health for many more years to come.
Dr. Hoekzema is so patient, kind, and gentle with his patients (and their parents). He is willing to thoroughly answer questions and my children have always felt at ease with him.
