I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and always come here when I’m craving something sweet. Their strawberry cheesecake is really good, and the price is pretty affordable too. I end up getting it pretty often! The strawberry jam on top can be a little dry sometimes, but overall, it’s a great dessert for the price.
Very disappointing experience with Grandma’s Bakery on 13th Avenue and 74th Street. We picked up a pretty large assortment — chocolate chip cookies, vanilla cookies with rainbow sprinkles, a slice of 7-layer cake, carrot cake, and several other assorted cookies — so unfortunately this wasn’t just one bad item. Nearly everything had the same strange, off taste. The cookies tasted noticeably stale, dry, and like they had been sitting out for a long time rather than being fresh from a bakery.
