I had such a great time taking Scott’s timber framing class. We had people with a wide range of skills but managed to build a beautiful frame by the end of the week. Buy the chisel recommended for the class, it’s well worth the money. I used what I learned from this class and timber framed the front porch on our new house and the result was great!

Fantastic people. My 12 year old daughter and I did the timberframe class and bought the resulting frame for our property. Scott is an exceedingly patient instructor and very informative. If you are thinking about taking the class, think no more. Go do it!

I attended a timber framing workshop with Grand Oaks in 2004. It was an amazing experience, and I have such fond memories of that week. I ended up building several timber frames of my own, and I'm very grateful to have had my first experience with timber framing at Grand Oaks. Scott was a great teacher. If you are thinking of attending a workshop or purchasing plans from Scott, I highly recommend you go through with it!
