At 8,700 square feet and home to 12 horses, this working stable is a great way to see the horses up close. The Grand Stables is also an antique carriage museum with approximately 30 antique carriages and sleighs on display from both Grand Hotel and Mackinac Island Carriage Tours

Nice collection of historic coaches ...
We stopped and walked through here as part of our carriage ride. It's a nice little carriage museum, as well as stables with a few of the island's horses. There was someone in the stable area answering questions, and the carriage area had signs with information on each carriage and related history. They also had the VIP carriage for the Grand Hotel out while we were there, though we didn't see the Hackneys until the carriage passed us in town later in the day. Beautiful place to see old carriages and amazing horses! Quick walk through place but so much history.
