Such an amazing time. However our train engine broke down and we waited 5 hours, causing a stall in our travels. Not something that ever really happens but even being stuck, in the desert on a train was a thrill we will never forget. The views, the entertainment and the robbery at the end were all sweet memories forever cherished. Ps. For those who wonder, we took our own lunch boxes with drinks, food etc. Long day and the train food is expensive and so is the restaurants at the canyon. A fun way to see the Grand Canyon. It starts with a funny western skit before you board. We rode in coach which was comfortable and nice. Gina, our host, was sweet, informative and helpful. The ride was about 2 1/4 hrs each way during which we heard some interesting information from our host and a stolling musician came through. We had 3 1/2 hours at the Grand Canyon which was enough to ride a shuttle to the visitor center and walk the rim trail back to the village with some extra time at the village. What a thoroughly enjoyable journey and great way to see the canyon. I had Teryl as my carriage guide and she was engaging, full of knowledge stories and kept the journey fun there and back. Would highly recommend!
We enjoyed a relaxing trip with musical entertainment and a very informative and entertaining host( Cheryl). It's worth the price.
