We enrolled our 4.5 yo at Gracie Barra and we felt at home from the second we stepped in. Professor Alexandre and his team are absolutely amazing teacher. Our son loves going to class and we love what the school stands for, the atmosphere and approach. Special thanks to Gabriela the program director who has been so welcoming and helpful! Can't wait to take a class myself!

We came to Gracie Barra after some of my kids had been dealing with serious bullying at school including being choked and hit several times. BJJ has completely transformed their lives. It’s helped them build real confidence, discipline, and comfort with physical contact and confrontation. At one point, some older kids tried to bully them again throwing punches to the face and head but they were quickly taken down and controlled with armbars or back takes. Back in May 2023 I emailed inquiring about joining as a new student and the only response I got was about price ($250/month). Nothing about my other questions such as how can I setup a time to have the trial class, is there a limit to how many days per week to train, what do I need to bring to class... It seems like a bit of a douchey place as well (I guess it makes sense being close to King West). Not to mention the cult-like fact that you have to wear "their" branded gi and no-gi clothing. After just 4 months at Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu, I can confidently say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. The sense of community and camaraderie is unparalleled. Professor Alexandre demonstrates profound knowledge in Jiu-Jitsu and has an ability to make everyone feel like family.
