Julie did my alternations for my wedding dress. She did them perfectly from my first fitting, just before the wedding I decided I wanted some slight changes (preference rather than fit!) and in a short notice she managed to do them. She was really lovely, well skilled and made me feel very comfortable. I 100% recommend 🩷
Simply wouldn't recommend this shop based on the owner Julie. When asking about alterations she was rude and aggressive. She only does alterations on one day a week and I couldn’t make that day due to work. So when she realised I couldn’t do that day she emailed asking me to fetch my dress away. EVEN though I had paid for storage. I didn’t reply as I was working out when to pick the dress up, so then she called me asking when I was going to collect. Her emails were rude and aggressive. I bought my wedding dress from Gowns and Garters for my April 2025 and right from the offset Julie and Saffron were brilliant. As someone who was in need of a bigger size dress and someone who is not the most comfortable in formal dresses, it is fair to say I was dreading wedding dress shopping. I had my wedding dress altered in length and at my shoulders here, the work was absolutely stunning and you couldn’t remotely tell it had been altered. Every time I went in the staff were exceptional and super friendly. My wedding was a huge success and I owe a huge about of that to garters and gowns for making my dress so spectacular. Thank you so much to all the staff, you are truly wonderful x
I would definitely recommend. Saffron made me feel so at ease trying on dresses and it was a lovely experience.
