Disappointing food and overpriced This overpriced ($10) buffet consisted of mushy rice (claimed to be Basmati but didn't taste or look like it) and a variety of tasteless vegetarian dishes--apparently they don't believe in using spices. The service was not very friendly, and despite being a buffet they charged extra for some items (samosas, dessert). Filled with cultists in robes talking of "spiritual" matters--Feh. I love vegetarian food but these dishes were poorly prepared and had been lying around too long.
Heaven on Earth Govinda's is the absolute best restaurant in Tucson, regardless if one is or is not vegetarian. Their food tastes as though it was prepared with love and will make you feel better both phyically and spiritually. I would have to agree with Linda Ronstadt that Govinda's IS the only place to eat in Tucson!

something everyone should experience at least once Completely vegetarian buffet, vegan on Thursdays. The menu changes daily, and the chefs bless the food before setting it out on the buffet. I thought it a bit odd that the plates and cups available are paper (Dixie brand), but the food was good and the atmosphere was nice.
