Governor's Academy is an excellent high school.
As the grandmother of two boys who have attended Governors- one is a Senior this year, the other is in college - I have enjoyed hearing about and seeing the many educational advantages for these students.
By changing their name back to Governor Dummer Academy which is steeped in tradition instead of this generic one. The change must have been the brain-child of Petey Bragdon who loved the sound of his own voice so much he had to ordain mandatory morning meetings. Smilin' Jack Ragle, now there was a real headmaster!
The faculty is absolutely A1....i love my son's new HS, wish I could go back!
My daughter graduated today and while we are thrilled with her accomplishment, leaving this special place has us all pretty choked up. My daughter is a different person than the one that entered the campus 4 years ago. She has pushed herself academically, met fantastic people from all around the world and become an incredible athlete thanks to her amazing coaches. She has friends for life in a very special advisor and wonderful teachers. Fantastic experience.
Wonderful school!!! The Faculty and staff are topnotch!! My daughter transferred in as a junior and was welcomed with open arms. She is being challenged in ways that she has always hoped!!!! Academics, Athletics, Social, Civics, Arts and Community Service are a priority -- all students and staff are involved!!! So proud she is part of this wonderful Academic Community!!!
Love what Governor’s is doing with young minds, bodies, and spirits from the challenging and inspiring academics to rewarding community life programming, impressive arts, competitiveness in athletics, and strength in friendships and mentorships. We are grateful for the experiences our son is having at Gov’s.
