I grew up on that river in Davidsonville, we spent every summer canoeing up and down from Riverwood to the RT 50 bridge. The river was completely untouched then with no developments. In the summer of 1995 while canoeing under the RT 50 bridge we saw a 5ft bull shark chasing fish, it kept swimming under our canoe and checking us out. We stopped swimming and tubing in the river after that. Those bull sharks are still there in the Patuxent so be mindful.
