I drove from Elkhart to come here because I have always been treated with respect and care in the Goshen Health System as opposed to what I got in Elkhart. I was not disappointed. Took my girlfriend to the ER tonight. She was crying and screaming in pain. They did nothing but give her fluids and pain meds and told us that they would be back in 20min. Then they left us for 2 hours without ever checking in. She was wailing in pain for 2hrs streight... they never once checked in on us. Dr Shenk, Jonathan. I came to this ER on May 9. I'm still mad, especially after having went to a different county and getting treated for what I BEGGED other Drs to help me with. I had SEVERE stomach cramping, pain, couldn't eat - it made pain 10x worse. I had recently quit alcohol, which unbeknownst to me can cause horrible pain in the intestinal lining. I am very disappointed with our recent ER visit. My child came in with a swollen foot, rash, and significant pain to the point she could barely walk. Rice,Jamie NP took a quick look and said it “looked like hand, foot, and mouth disease” without properly examining her swollen joints or considering other causes. I took my son in for a possible skull fracture. Though we were taken back in a timely manner, the room we were in was disgusting. The floor was covered in dirt, there were bloody rags still in the trash cans in the room in plain sight, on top of the doctor didn't even come in to discuss the results of his test. I wouldn't use this hospital for any serious injuries.
