I've only had one office visit so far, but I agree with the relevant answers others gave above. He is professional but understanding, good bedside manner, gave good explanations and showed me the MRI films that helped me understand better. I now need to see his counterpart doctor, Dr. Christopher Silveri at Fair Oaks Fairfax VA for consult. They both would be doing the surgery if that is what is needed.
Dr. Gorsen is a warm, caring physician that I cannot say enough positive things about. He explains things very clearly and has a wonderful bedside manor and his expertise in neurosurgery and his demeanor are par excellence. I would highly recommend Dr. Gorsen to my family and friends and acquaintances. I would give him ten stars

I was especially pleased with Dr. Gorsen's detailed explanation of options for addressing my severe stenosis and related back problems, his assessment of expected outcomes, and his post surgical follow up in the hospital and office consultations. He has an interactive interpersonal style and approach that I found especially helpful and reassuring. He is an excellent surgeon who I would highly recommend to anyone who has back problems..
Dr. Gorsen, on short notice, assisted Dr. Silveri in surgery to repair my broken back. I viewed the MRI/xrays with him, prior to the surgery, and he answered all my questions w/further explanation when needed. Dr. Gorsen is among the very best Doctors I've ever seen. His small office staff is excellent and there is rarely a delay in the appointment time. As a team, Dr. Gorsen and Dr. Silveri are brilliant. I've gone from bed-ridden to Jazzercising in 6 months, thanks to them.
After having Dr Gorsen operate on my husband, and two of my employees, I chose to drive over two and one-half hours, one way, to get Dr. Gorsen's opinion on my current back problems. He has requested further testing, so I will have more long trips, but it's worth every mile, to have someone I can trust without reservation. He has been recognized as one of the top rated Neurosurgeons in the DC area, but more importantly, he has a 100% successful rating with me!
Dr. Gorsen schedules patients so that he has time to ask questions, study MRI's, and listen to their concerns. He is compassionate, genuine, and conscientious. He honors both the dignity and privacy of those whom he tends.
