My tree service called GSOC after taking out 2 trees and multiple old overgrown lilacs. They never came out to mark lines, and supposedly “cleared”the project based on maps alone. Fortunately my tree service staff did some careful preliminary digging and uncovered both gas and cable lines right in the middle of the project. Centerpoint Energy was very responsive and immediately came out to identify and cap the gas line. My husband and I are EXTREMELY disappointed in Gopher 1 and their incompetent processes. Due to their incompetence and the locators who were given our info. We could NOT move forward on our project we scheduled. What a waste of time!! Now we have to call the individual utility companies ourselves to get it located!!!! Gopher 1, the middleman, is a joke. They send the info to the utilities. The area specified was clear and specific. Backyard. East of sidewalk to fence. We had a zillion white flags indicating the area. What th... read more
