Goodwin's has a unique Texas flair with an antique-style speakeasy atmosphere that's both cozy and inviting. The bartender was fantastic, and the drinks were exceptional. The Spicy Margarita had the perfect kick, the Southside gin cocktail was refreshing, and the smoked pecan whiskey was a standout. Great drinks, great service, and a great place to relax and enjoy a conversation.
Located in the basement of what used to be the home of Henry Gruene’s cotton workers, I believe. Head out back, behind traveling Gypsies store, at the Gruene Grove area. We came on a weekday therefore it wasn’t busy at all. The bartender was very friendly. Cocktails were great.
