I used Goodspeed for my divorce which was finalized in 2023. The attorney that represented me left the firm in 2025. I got a new bill for 20k in may of 2025, 18 months after the fact. Beware. They are dishonest and will gouge you after the fact. I am going to my best to right the crooked attorneys at Goodspeed but when you are up against the system of lawyers, what are you supposed to do.
Nick Reckman is our go to for all things mergers and acquisitions! He’s incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, resourceful, and experienced. We’ve done several deals with him and I couldn’t speak highly enough. Things went so well that we hired Rick Merpi to handle some additional legal for our small business. Rick’s responsive, knowledgeable, and gives us the options and forethought we need to make excellent collective decisions.

My wife and I worked with Nicholas Reckman at Goodspeed Merrill for the sale of our accounting practice. We were blown away by the professionalism, responsiveness, excellent advice, and advocacy we received. Nick is very personable and an excellent business attorney because he focuses on the big picture. He did not waste time or negotiating power on small details that had a low impact and could have upset the opposing side. We feel great receiving what we cared about most in a solid deal.
They were great at taking my retainer. Everything thereafter has been a disappointment. They took weeks to get me documents that were not even close to what I had discussed. In fact they were not even useable . When I emailed my concerns they responded with an estimate 10 times the initial retainer, without apology or correcting the previous mistake. I wish I had read reviews instead of a take “recommendation” from my other lawyer.
