I find it absolutely shameful that this gym charges $295 to cancel a membership. When you sign up, they tell you that you have 3 months to cancel, and if you cancel before the 3 months, you only need to pay $40. This information was given not only to me but also to 3 other people I know — and all of us ended up being charged $295. Today I had a one on one with the wonderful personal trainer, Gemma at Burleigh Waters. From her gleaming smile to her vast training knowledge she guided and helped me to feel very comfortable, when I hadn't stepped into a gym for many years.

Staff were generally fine, though some of the younger front desk team could use more training. The gym equipment is showing its age and really needs reinvestment. Several cardio machines—particularly the stationary bikes—are often broken, and the treadmills don’t display the correct pace or are out of order. Yes, the membership is cheaper than most, but unfortunately the quality reflects that.
