Trigger Warning: Discussion of SIDS and potential medical neglect I saw Dr. Canal three times with my newborn while waiting for an opening with another pediatrician. Each visit left me feeling dismissed, unheard, and deeply concerned about the advice I was given. At my first appointment, I was two weeks postpartum after a C-section. I scheduled to establish care at this clinic. The first available appointment was three weeks out (totally reasonable) so I scheduled the first available appointment. Forty five minutes before the appointment that I scheduled to be off work for the clinic called and canceled the appointment. Life happens, so I took the next available appointment to be rescheduled two weeks later. Of which I also scheduled to be available from work for.
