SDC renovated my entire 1924 Chicago Bungalow a few years back. He moved walls, put in an entire custom kitchen, reconfigured the layout to allow for a large master suite and made the house much more functional for my family. I cannot say enough about the quality of the craftsmanship and the creativity that Spencer brings to the table. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to hire a contractor. Spencer Dobrovolny is a man of high character and enormous skill and ability. When he worked transforming our second bathroom into a beautiful space using Jerusalem limestone from floor to ceiling, we knew from the beginning the project was in able hands. Spencer is a totally stand up guy! He is very good at what he does, he understands every trade and is himself good at most of them. He will build you a house from the ground up, do a major remodel or a wonderful kitchen renewal. He speaks fluent Spanish - this is a good thing. His pricing on jobs is more than fair. And he is a kind person. I have been using him for several years on a variety of projects and he has become my good friend. I recommend him without reservation.
Spencer and his guys really pride themselves on high quality construction practices. He was so knowledgeable of all the code requirements. Our building inspector was really impressed. Calm and easy to get along with. I was dreading having construction done, but I actually enjoyed it. The finished product looks polished and I couldn't be happier.
