I learned about the water fire festival while I was waiting for my gondola and initially felt extremely sad that I couldn’t be here during that time. However, once we started our ride, it was surreal to be alone on the water enjoying our wine cookies and drinks taking in every bit of this city that my husband and I started loving so much! I worked with Marcello on a Gondola proposal event. It was such a wonderful experience. Marcello took the time to personally reach out the day before my trip to go over logistics and answer any questions I had for the special day. He even took the time to take fantastic videos and photos to capture the proposal. I highly recommend this experience to all local residents or tourists.
We booked a gondola ride for my birthday and unfortunately had a very frightening experience. The evening started off fine, although it was extremely windy. We brought our own blanket and a bottle of wine, which the gondolier kindly opened and poured for us. However, about 10–15 minutes before the end of our ride, our gondolier fell into the cold water. Great experience! I highly recommend seeing Providence from the treasure that is the river. The Gondoliers are retell the history and easily answer questions about old and new buildings. Ours sang in Italian and was accompanied by a talented accordion player.
