Amazing park. The director is amazing and so knowledgeable. Very sad to see staffing reduction due to budget cuts. They still put on a great show that is fun for all ages and levels of knowledge.
If you are able to go here, do yourself a favor and check their website to get your tickets and go there! I took my teens there, who usually groan when I ask them to turn in their phones...no groans. They enjoy science, so they were happy to participate with questions. We all learned so much from the extremely knowledgeable ranger, that we just cannot say enough good things. This is an awesome place to visit. We attended the afternoon solar show. Troy was very informative and has excellent knowledge in the field. Definitely recommended for all age groups.
So far I’ve been to the observatory five or six times. I’ve gone four times for the night show just did solar show for the first time and I am about to do the night show again. I’ve made reservations to come here two more times this year. It’s best to go in September when the nights are longer and the weather still pretty good.
