All of the golden rules around me closed but thank goodness for Archie’s. It’s the best bbq around. Everything is just like it was years ago. Fast service even though every seat was taken. Friendly staff. They have sliced pick which I love. The inside out side sliced jumbo bbq was the best
Certainly there is some old school pit nostalgia, which nice But that’s where it ends. The food is not up to par. I fail to see how this place stays in business, unless patrons simply don’t know good bbq. The chopped pork was flavorless and dry. Didn’t even have a smoked pork taste, very bizarre. The buns were stale and the sauce might as well been ketchup. It’s almost like they intend the meat to be drowned in sauce for it to be remotely edible. I moved away over 30 years ago and make a point to stop when traveling through Birmingham The burger and fries are still amazing and the prices are reasonable
