The road last night to Gold king mountain inn was absolutely awful. We tried to get up the road to the hotel. We got stuck, and the maintenance guy, I wish I caught his name, was so incredibly amazing to us. He picked up my mom who was trying to make it to the hotel to get help from my dad. Then worked hard to plow the road. When we still could not get the car up the hill, he followed my dad and I to the parking garage and drove us up to the hotel. Not a good experience during event weekends (like the Ice Carvings event today). Understaffed servers that have a hard time even giving out a bottle of water. The Salt Grass restaurant is even worse. Wouldn't sit anyone without a reservation and wouldn't even let us order an appetizer to eat on the Casino floor. Lucky we brought our own snacks for the day. On the brighterside Brandon is great even though he had no contol over these issues.
Very clean. Good service. Hotel was nice.
We had a nice stay at the golden nugget. Clean, we'll decored rooms with plenty of amenities. Right next door to the casino as well. Covered garage parking is excellent. Recommended.
