I just today tried golden eagle syrup and must say I think it is terrible syrup. It was like melted hard candy , but no good syrup taste.
I missed looking at the ingredients of it at the store or I wouldn’t have purchase it , and was surprised when I did look and saw it was made from high fructose corn syrup.
I’m even more surprised it’s been made the same way for ninety years.
I don’t believe the original makers had high fructose corn back then.
Anyway, I’ve tried it.

I’ve been eating it for as long as I can remember since I was a little girl and I’m 50+. I still eat it on homemade butter biscuits.

This is a great company and their golden syrup is the best.
I use it for sooo many cooking projects at home and at the fire department. Makes a good southern crusted smoked pork loin.
