Golden Deli is a San Gabriel favorite, serving generous, family-style portions of Vietnamese staples in a welcoming, modern setting. The menu is extensive, and regulars will tell you that you can't really go wrong, no matter what you order! Favorites include the Pho Ta Gan or the rib eye and tenderloin with rice noodle soup; Mi Tom Cua Thit or the crab, shrimp, and BBQ pork with egg noodle soup; and the Com Cha Bo Nuong or grilled beef and baked egg with steamed rice. Excelling at both intense and subtle flavors, there is so... read more

Thumbs up from the neighborhood! – I live in the neighborhood and eat at Golden Deli regularly. Best Vietnamese food in SGV (apparently good enough that people I know from South Bay and the West Side make the trip on a regular basis). Parking problem is the fault of the City of San Gabriel who allowed 4 or 5 restaurants to exist in that little mini mall.
I went to eat in this restaurant last week. we ate 7 beef courses it was terrible. The waiters and waitresses are having their sad face even the gentleman stand behind the counter have a sad face too. Why? if you don't feel happy stay home don't ruin your place like that . I feel sorry for you boss and I believe that the person I mentioned above stand behind the counter is the boss. Sorry to say that I will never come back again
good food don't listen to the 2 reviewers, Kerry and Teresa...they either are smoking something synthetic or they have no taste buds for good vietnamese food. This is the best vietnamese food in the S.G. Valley. All the other Pho places (and there's plenty), don't even compare to this place (except for their sister restaurant, Saigon Flavor). Prices are cheap and the food is excellent, what else can you ask for. One thing about Golden Deli is the long wait if you go there exactly at lunch time, that's when the rush happens.
great spring rolls and pho...great customer service! – The place was packed w/ Vietnamese customers...which is usually a good sign. The cha gio (fried spring rolls) were great! They were larger than usual and came with a generous heap of lettuce, mint, basil, cucumber, bean sprouts and even shiso. The pho broth was very tasty! The service was great. I ordered the rice cake with pork for the first time and was not sure how to eat it. The older gentleman who might have been the owner, must've noticed and stopped by the table t... read more
A good family owned restaurant. Authentic Vietnamese food.
Beats Pho 79 hands down! – This restaurant has a long history in this town as being a well-loved authentic Vietnamese noodle house, and I am so glad to have discovered it! Was going to Pho 79 down the street for a long time just because I didn't know of any other place as authentic without going down to Orange County, but the service at Pho 79 was so bad, and the place seemed run-down and dirty, I had to boycott. Golden Deli is such a breath of fresh air compared to them! The owner and his son are so nice and pleasant, and t... read more
Previously Best Vietnamese Pho Restaurant – Is it just me or does it seem like Golden Deli isn't as authentic as it used to be? Pho tastes watered down, a little bland, and from my entrepreneurial experience in Chinese restaurants, that's what happens when you start to have an influx of non Asian customers, you can downplay your menu without the customers noticing a change in recipe.
Good place – Great food + cheap prices = long lines but lat least they are quick and efficient. this is a good first stop for some great vietnamese food. if the line is long, go to pho 79 on garfield where the portions are even larger but the taste is not quite as good (still very good to us)
Foodies and Vietnamese ex-pats fill this tiny eatery for some of the most authentic grub this side of the globe. – In Short Although it's hidden in the back of a strip mall a few blocks from the busy 10 freeway, this restaurant is easily found by following the folks who rush out of their recently parked cars to get ahead of those who pulled in next to them. Once inside, the minimally decorated single dining room, steaming bowls of pho soup, slippry vermicelli noodles with peanut sauce, and boiled meats are placed in front of... read more
