We were disappointed with our experience at The Golden Beetle. If you're going to dine here, I would at least dine in for the full experience. I'm sure the plating is nice, but we ordered take out, so everything was boxed up and put into small plastic containers. We were able to objectively see how much food we got for the price with no plating fanciness, and taking the decent (not outstanding) flavor into account, we're giving it a 2 out of 5. I love this place, and I have cravings for both the Skagit River Ranch burger and the Falafel Sammy. Not everything I've had there is awesome, but I've definitely had more hits than misses.
Service was polite and well presented. Atmosphere was clean but not at all traditional and had no character. Most of the food and drinks were good however I was very disappointed with a couple of staple items as well as the cucumber soup. This place feels very cold and unfriendly.
Our neighborhood go to for happy hour, beat the heat and rotating seasonal menu. Very good bartenders. Pizza that redefines the category.
