I really didn't want to spend $60 per person to ride up just to take pics, but my partner insisted and paid. Okay fine, I'll go. The ride is about 3-5 minutes long each way. The tram operator gave us a monotone spiel about the lift and area, it was pretty funny. Once up there, the views are awesome. It was a clear day so our pics came out great. Took the tram up the mountain in August '22 and September '25. In 2022, there were 6 ships docked and the crowd and lines were awful (this is no fault of the tram operator). End of the 2nd week in September, not bad at all. Very nice to be able to see views of Juneau, Douglas Island and Gastineau Channel all the way to Stephens Passage.
Stood in line for almost an hour.. even with pre-purchasing the tickets, but the views were worth it!! Even on a cloudy day!
