So I went into this business today. I had a 14kt gold ring to sell. I calculated how much the gold was worth based upon spot price, weight in grams, and the percentage of gold in the ring. These folks were going to give me 47% or $170 of that total. One of the employees said "well we have to make money!" No kidding, but 47% is horrifically bad to offer a (one time) customer.
