I just completed the six week Gokhale Method course with Esther Gokhale, who led us through the different methods of restoring our spine to the shape it was meant to be. She did this with kindness and much patience of which I am grateful. In six weeks I learned how to stand, sit, walk, and bend at the hips maintaining a spine that is neither rounded nor swayed. Five years ago, when I was getting to know my girlfriend, she completed a brief course with Esther. With just a few months of following the Gokhale Method, her long-term hip pain had vanished. I took the Foundations Course in 2020, which helped me straighten up my spine and eliminate some low back pain. And just today I had a refresher course, with one other alumna, for help with my walking gait and some newer leg issues. I highly recommend the Gokhale Method for anyone with back pain, structural issues or just wanting to improve your posture (avoid that "old folks" hump!) This course was absolutely transformative! I've struggled with poor posture for years, leading to chronic aches and pains. Esther's deep knowledge of the body and how it functions is evident, and she presented the information in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand way. In 2020 I took the elements course online during COVID and it was a big help with my chronic back pain. More recently I saw an announcement for a refresher course for university alumni. I signed up and I am so glad I did. David focused on the areas I needed help with and I left the lesson standing taller with better bean shaped feet, also some exercises to strengthen some weak areas. It was just what I needed. Thank you so much for this refresher.
