Going Gear was started in the summer of 2008 with a single product category: blank firesteel rods. The business was online only at first, operating out a constantly expanding portion of our founders house. He quickly expanded into other survival items such as paracord, waterproof capsules, and all kinds of other goodies. It’s mostly online sales now. They do have a little bit of stock.
Stop in and say hello to Dan. Great company, been following for years, but great to finally stop in the new location and say hello.
Doing business with Going Gear and the people that work there, make it where best in class service is not enough said…that is saying a lot. This company may be small but their belief in what they do and their commitment is larger than Amazon! Rock on guys, you have earned a customer for as long as we have night!!!
I ordered a clearance item that was in stock. My item was showing processing for over a week. Going Gear canceled my order and then reposted the clearance item at its original price. I tried reaching out to the company several times and no one answered the phone. If you are looking for a good gear from an honest and reputable company then I recommend looking elsewhere.
Ended up getting a little trigger happy on ordering a knife from Going Gear, only to realise it wasn’t the right choice for me. I’m living in Canada so shipping can be tough across the border. They were very helpful and offered me different options to so crossing the border would go by smoothly. I ended up cancelling due to time frame issues with moving, but they were very helpful. You can definitely count on Going Gears customer service.
