Bought travel insurance for my mother to visit Canada. Even though on my policy it says GMS, when I actually submit the claim I had to be transferred to World Travel Protection. The the following story happened with World Travel Protection. Claim number 303768 - Not able to get my money. Second time they are saying they sent a check to my address. Still not received. I bought trip cancellation/interruption insurance prior to leaving on our vacation. It was easy to understand what was covered under the plan and the cost was very reasonable. I'm so thankful I bought the insurance since we were delayed coming home from our trip due to the weather and incurred additional unexpected expenses. I had an excellent experience submitting and receiving approval on my claim. The customer service was prompt and outstanding!
I had a terrible experience with GMS insurance.They completely failed to honor their commitment when my mother needed medical care the most. Despite having a valid policy, they found every excuse possible to deny payment for her medical bills, leaving us to cover the enormous costs out of pocket. My experience with GMS were nothing but positive. In fact, I had to obtain some correspondence from them after my file has been closed. Even as a former client, they were prompt in responding and courteous all the way. A very reputable business.
