Had a colonoscopy procedure at the hospital yesterday, the service from start to finish was excellent. The staff were professional and friendly and looked after me very well. I was very nervous and they all put me at ease. Every step of the way was explained to me and nothing was too much trouble for them. I was dreading the procedure but can honestly say the staff made it very bearable. Thank you so much.

The ignorance of the two women behind the Outpatients info desk! As a result of a childhood illness I can’t walk. When I go out, I use a small, carbon-fibre balance bike with no pedals. One of the women told me I would have to leave it outside the hospital as it was a danger to other people. When I politely explained my problem to the other one, what the mobility aid was, and that I couldn’t walk without it she said she was going to call security. On 26th September I had cholesteatoma surgery, which took around five hours to complete. The packing in my ear and the pain afterwards have left me feeling rough, but the care I received from my surgeon and the ward staff during my overnight stay was nothing short of fantastic. Every request was dealt with straight away, always with a smile. I truly wish more NHS hospitals were like Gloucestershire Royal. The staff there deserve so much credit for their kindness and professionalism.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff that looked after me. I initially went in for a hernia repair operation but 2 weeks later had started to feel ill and got referred back to the hospital by my doctor. Yes I hadto wait to go through the procedures from A & E but by the time I was seen, CT scan arranged and results found that I had a bad infection, things moved quickly and hadto go back into surgery.
