I brought in a ring a few months ago to be resized. I didn't know what exact size my finger was, but guessed it was around a 7. The associate I worked with sized my finger as a 7.75, which seemed wrong but he insisted that he did not want to go any smaller. Sure enough, my ring is now so big that it hangs upside down when I wear it and has fallen off of my hand. I have since taken it to another trusted jeweler, who confirmed I am a size 7, so now I get to pay to have my ring resized twice.
