Ten years ago this month D. Barnhart did a mitral valve repair surgery on my heart, today I am a healthy 78 year old male who walks 2 miles a day and enjoys my life completely, thanks Dr. Barnhart.
He was calm, cool, collected, and extremely knowledgeable during what to most people is a life-altering time. My wife's open-heart surgery went extremely well, and Dr. Barnhart took all the time in the world to explain to me exactly what had happened during her surgery, and what we should expect going forward. He is the most patient-focused surgeon I have ever met. My wife saw him 9 months later by chance in the hallway at Swedish, and he took the time to talk with her more then.
