Karen Miller was horrible. I actually left her office feeling more hopeless than when I walked in. I was told by the woman at the front desk, as well as Karen, that she specialized in trauma, but I was met by someone who only spoke to me about Alcoholics Anonymous and AA meetings. I did my best to express my feelings(something that is extremely difficult for me) but was only met with indifference and advice such as: "You are living in a fantasy land. It is extremely sad to see the state of therapy and to have it touted as though everyone should get help when the help offered is twisted by politics. Our therapist seemed to enjoy hearing himself talk more than he wanted to hear us talk. He only walked us through half of a tool before "certifying us" which means every session we would just get stuck in this awful complaint validation cycle. My experience with Dr. Andrew Lawson changed the entire trajectory of my life. He educated me and gave me tools that I didn't even know existed.
