Had the best time at Glen Dye, such a magical place and they really have thought of everything, we had all the comforts of home and extra touches we really appreciated like lots of books to read and beautiful art on the walls. Lovely walks right on the doorstep and gorgeous scenery. We'll definitely be back, thank you!
A wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay at The Bothy at Glen Dye. Spending time in the sauna and the outdoor bath, cooking on the BBQ and walking in the woods gave us just the re-set and recharge we needed. It's a special place.
What a treat to stay at Glen Dye (The Hayloft)! Excellently designed restoration of steading block to provide a range of 'cottages', with interiors decorated in a wonderfully quirky style. Many little extra touches to add to the enjoyment eg candles, tablet - and a host of reading material. All set amongst a range of estate walks and other activities. Finally, in the area do not miss the Fish Shop in Ballater..
Brilliant escape - great part of the world to visit. Beautiful Scotland lovely drive to feels like wilderness though not too far from great wee towns, coast and places to visit. 2 nights days didn’t feel like enough. Lots to do without leaving glen dye - facilities are full of fun, walks so pack your boots, mountains or woodland right there, woodland sauna with shower from the lade, everything you could heat with fire to eat, bathe, sit on front of and all with style. Brilliant for the most part but a little style over substance at points and the few touch points with staff were a little Luke warm. Spent a long weekend here in March and the location is second to none, absolutely beautiful. There are so many touches that make the stay curated but something that you discover rather than having somebody drip feed it to you. The accommodation perhaps lacks a bit of luxury (electric shower, no dressing gowns) but it makes up for in decor and thoughtfulness (lanterns, backpacks to use). At poin... read more
